ACT 101 Mission Statement
The mission of the ACT 101 Program at King's College is to provide support services for residents of Pennsylvania who are academically, financially, socially, physically, and/or emotionally challenged with regard to their ability to succeed in college. ACT 101 is student centered and, in every regard, advocates for the student's best interest. ACT 101 strives to guide students in their quest for academic success and a rewarding life beyond King's College.
ACT 101 interfaces with King's College faculty, Student Affairs staff and administrators to form a strong, solid relationship and maintain open lines of communication, beginning with a student's admission through graduation.
A second, and perhaps equally-important function of King's ACT 101 program, is to act as a laboratory on behalf of the College for development of pilot programs in learning and counseling assistance. This function stems from awareness that serving students who have a recognized need is a very inexact business, and far from being a fine science.

The program includes the following services:
o Limited grant assistance
o Comprehensive tutorial assistance
(individual, small group and labs)
o Counseling
o Assistance in obtaining financial aid
o Summer program offering 3-6 tuition-free credits
(new first-year and transfer students)
o Career planning/academic advisement
o Groups on study skills and personal development issues
