King’s College showcases talents of local high school students

November 11, 2009 – A variety of original works by local high school students will be showcased in the Widmann Gallery at King’s College during “The Seventh Annual Invitational Emerging Artists Exhibition” from Nov. 20 through Dec. 18. This year’s presentation, coordinated by local artist Sue Hand, is a display of original works that pay homage to the teachers of the young artists.
 
Exhibiting artworks will be approximately 40 high school students representing 10 local high schools, including Central Columbia High School, Dallas High School, Greater Nanticoke Area High School, Holy Redeemer, Homeschool, Lake-Lehman High School, Northwest Area High School, Tunkhannock Area High School, Wyoming Seminary, and Wyoming Valley West.

The artists will discuss their work from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, in the Widmann Gallery in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center, located between North Franklin and North Main streets. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours: Mon. through Fri., 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Sat. and Sun., as arranged. The Gallery is closed on national holidays and during scheduled breaks throughout the academic year.
