Local King’s Students Present History Research Papers at Conference

June 18, 2010- Andrew Handel and Marisa Sedon, both King’s College history majors, recently presented their history research papers at the 2010 Phi Alpha Theta Eastern Pennsylvania/New Jersey Regional Conference at Bloomsburg University. In all, five King’s students were selected to present at the conference.

A resident of Dallas, Handel is a senior history and education major. His research paper is titled “Roosevelt: The Moralist.” He is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Alpha Theta, the Education Club, and the History Society.

A Wilkes Barre resident, Sedon is a graduate student majoring in history and secondary education. Her paper is titled “19th Century World Fairs and the Middle Class.” She is a member of Phi Alpha Theta.

Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. Phi Alpha Theta seeks to bring students, teachers and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by members in a variety of ways.
