For Immediate Release King’s PA Students Conduct Free Presentations on Various Health Topics May 27, 2010 - Members of the summer graduating class of physician assistant majors at King’s College will conduct free presentations on various health topics at the Volunteers in Medicine clinic at 190 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in Wilkes-Barre. The senior students are doing the public community service presentations as part of their Masters Project before completing the Physician Assistant program in August. All the presentation will begin at 5 p.m. Advance registration is encouraged. To register, contact the Volunteers in Medicine clinic at 970-2864. The dates and topics for the presentations include June 2, understanding high cholesterol; June 7, smoking cessation; June 16, skin cancer awareness; and, June 23, affects of diabetes on the eyes and nervous system. All sessions will include research on current standards. Some sessions will include handouts to all attendees. The skin cancer awareness session will include a screening.King's College is a Catholic College sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross. |
