For Immediate Release Andrew Keyt to discuss successful family constitutions at King’s Family Business Forum February 16, 2010 – Executive Director of the Loyola University Chicago Family Business Center Andrew Keyt will discuss the importance of a family constitution for family owned businesses at the King’s College Family Business Forum from 8-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center, located between North Main and Franklin streets. A family constitution is the foundation for decision-making, plans, and policies to minimize conflict within a family business. Keyt will share his insight on how to make a family constitution work by managing the complexities of family, management, and ownership, while creating clear expectations, building unity, and fostering the development of the company. In addition, George Brown, a fourth generation family member of the children’s magazine “Highlights for Children,” will examine the background and benefits of his family business constitution. Highlights editorial office is based in Honesdale. Keyt is a frequent speaker on family business topics, and has been published in magazines and journals, including “Family Business” and “Family Business Review.” He has been interviewed by news media outlets, such as “Chicago Tribune,” “The Economist,” and “The Wall Street Journal.” A cum laude graduate of Kenyon College, Keyt completed a master’s degree in family systems theory from Northwestern University with a concentration on family business. He currently volunteers with the Leukemia Society of America. The Family Business Forum’s mission is to offer education and unique networking opportunities to regional family businesses.
