KIDS AT KING'S 2012

WELCOME TO KIDS AT KING'S 2012!
2012 marks the 11th year for the Kids at King’s Summer Program, and once again we are offering a full slate of classes for students entering grades 1-8. Close to 100 classes are on this year’s schedule, sure to offer something for everyone. Some of the old favorites will be back again, such as magic, cooking, arts and crafts, and the ever-popular cupcake decorating, and of course last year’s very successful LEGO robotics class will be back. New topics on this year’s schedule include several fun math camps, some new science classes, improvisation, and even an architecture class. There really is something for everyone, so check out the schedule, pick a few classes, and join us for some summer fun at King’s!
DROP-OFF AND PICK
UP
Students must be dropped off and picked up at Holy Cross Hall, located at the cul-de-sac on North Franklin Main Street (between West Union and West Jackson Streets). There is not a lot of room around the cul-de-sac, but additional parking will be available in the lot next to Holy Cross Hall.
Students should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of a class, and be picked up within 10 minutes of the end of a class. Supervision will not be provided any longer than 10 minutes before and after class. All students must be dropped off no earlier than 9:20 a.m. and picked up no later than 3:40 p.m. unless you wish to take advantage of our early drop-off/late pick-up for an additional fee. If someone other than the parent/guardian will be picking up the child, this information must be provided in writing prior to the class
EARLY DROP-OFF/LATE PICK-UP OPTION
Kids at King’s offers the option of early drop-off and/or late pick-up to help parents who may have scheduling difficulties. Early drop-off time is 8:30 a.m. and late pick-up is 4:30 p.m., providing one hour of supervision before the morning session begins and one hour after the afternoon session ends. The drop-off and pick-up point is still Holy Cross Hall, the same location as the drop-off and pick-up for the classes. Supervision will be provided at all times, with movies, games, puzzles, arts and crafts, and swimming (afternoon only) available. Cost is $15.00 per week for either the morning or the afternoon session, or $30.00 per week for both sessions. Supervision does not begin before 8:30 a.m. and ends promptly at 4:30 p.m. If you wish to take advantage of this opportunity, please indicate in the appropriate space on the registration form and include the payment with your registration fee.
- BEHAVIOR - We expect all students to show cooperation, respect for others, and a willingness to participate in all activities. Inappropriate behavior will be addressed on an individual basis and could involve a warning, a phone call to parents, or dismissal from the program.
- LUNCH - Students attending both the morning and afternoon sessions will be supervised by King’s staff during the lunch period. Students may bring their own lunch, or they can purchase lunch on campus. Typical lunch cost is approximately $6.00 per day.
- BREAKS - Each class will have a break during its session each day. Snacks are not provided, but students are welcome to bring a snack.
- CELL PHONES - During class time, cell phone usage is prohibited and phones must be turned off.
- DRESS - For safety reasons, we request all students wear closed-toe shoes or sneakers. And please, no Heelys. Be sure your child dresses appropriately for class activities and the weather. If rain is forecast, please have your child bring rain-repellent clothing or an umbrella.
- REGISTRATION - Please register as early as possible to ensure your child gets the classes of his/her choice. All classes have size limits and will be closed at that limit. Also, the decision on whether or not to run a class must be made a week before the class begins, so please do not wait until the last minute to register for a class. If you are registering more than one child, please use a separate form for each child. It is permissible to duplicate the registration form, but please be sure to duplicate the medical consent/release form as well.
