Mass Communications Student Trip to New York City
November 16, 2006

Phil Yacuboski '97 and Dr. Jayne Klenner Moore '86 professors in the Mass Communications Department arranged a trip for several students in the department to visit several locations in New York City.

First stop was to visit Brian Carey '83, news anchor at 1010WINS-AM, who gave them a nice tour of the studios and also talked to them about careers in radio.  Brian also arranged a tour of ABC News Radio where students learned about internship opportunities and covering stories all over the globe.

Second stop was a tour of CBS News where students received a career "pep talk" from CBS Evening News Anchorwoman Katie Couric.  It was a great 'behind the scenes' look at the world of broadcast journalism and what kinds of careers are available if they work hard.
