Interview with an admissions officer
Take the campus tour
Talk with a faculty member (preferably from a major that interests you)
Tour the athletic facilities and meet with a coach if you plan to play a sport
Pick up financial aid forms and meet with a counselor
Grab a student newspaper or activities calendar to take home with you
Check out the residence halls, library, student union, bookstore, etc.
Eat a meal in the cafeteria during lunch or dinner
Walk the campus and save the map for future reference
Attend a class or at least poke your head into a couple of classrooms
Attend an extracurricular activity (sports, theatre, etc.)
Tour the community surrounding the campus
Ask about special services you require
Visit the career center and note what kind of jobs alumni have gotten
Talk to a couple of students to find out what they like/don’t like
Gather names, numbers and e-mail addresses of the people you meet for future questions
Before you leave campus, take a moment to imagine yourself attending this college and make notes of your impressions.
