College Prep Specifics In order to get into college, there are some basic requirements you must meet. At a minimum, most colleges require:
Making the Grade Colleges want to see that you've challenged yourself – they would prefer a B in an advanced class than an A in a regular one so if you can handle Advanced Placement (AP) classes, you should take some. If your grades are stronger in certain subject areas, then that's where you should take higher-level classes. If you're really good at math, consider taking the AP course. But if math is not your strong suit, just do your best at your grade level. The key is not to take on too much – so talk to your counselor in order to determine the right mixture of advanced and high school level courses.
