STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM - STUDENT EXPERIENCES
Jessica Woodin How did you select your Study/Intern Abroad location? I picked this program because it was a traveling program. In just one month, I was able to study art & architecture in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Lucerne, Venice, Florence, and Rome. I couldn’t decide on just one place to study abroad so this program was perfect for me. Why did you want to study or intern abroad? I always knew I wanted to study abroad. I love traveling and learning about different cultures, so study abroad was the perfect opportunity for me. What was the highlight of this experience? The highlight of this experience was standing in the Colosseum imagining what it used to be like. It was surreal. I still can’t believe I was there. What surprised you the most? Lucerne, Switzerland surprised me the most. I wasn’t sure what to expect in Lucerne because I hadn’t really heard of the city before and was shocked when I got there. It was absolutely breathtaking as I sat on a bench one night and watched the sun set with the mountains and the lake in front of me. How has (or how might) this experience affect your major and future career? This experience has definitely made me a more cultured and well-rounded person. I’m a mass communications major and having this experience will certainly help my career as I work with people around the world. What would you tell students considering studying or interning abroad? Studying abroad is one of those once in a lifetime experiences that I believe everyone should have. You will learn things about yourself and about the world that you could never learn at home. No matter where you go, it will be the trip of a lifetime. |
