THEOLOGY

Careers

The major program prepares students for graduate study in theology or religious studies for teaching in high school or college. Our students have gone on to careers in teaching, ministry and business. In combination with other major programs or graduate study, a student may prepare for careers such as guidance counseling, journalism, certain government positions and a variety of service-oriented professions.

Employment Outlook

The dynamic growth in lay ministries within the various Christian churches makes an undergraduate degree in theology an important prerequisite for such positions as: director of religious education; youth minister; director of adult religious formation, and parish administrator. The traditional role of teaching in faith-based schools continues to be a viable and rewarding employment opportunity for

theology majors.
